At Pitlochry, which is only 8 minutes by train, there is a little known one called Edradour Distillery. They do a lovely Single Malt.

You can fish the River Tilt that is only about 5 feet from the lodge. In fact if you have a long rod, you could probably fish from the lodge decking.
The walks around and near are too many to mention. To check the walks in the area just click Lodge Walks or Pitlochry Walks. Pitlochry being just 8 minutes on the train.
If you are on a walking holiday, you can get loads of information from ‘Walk Scotland’, who are based in Pitlochry.
The opportunities for scenic and wildlife photos are endless. As the lodge sits within The Cairngorm National Park, you can literally go in any direction and there will be numerous photo opportunities for you.
The roads around the area are excellent for cycling. Although not deserted, they are very quiet.
Approximately an hour drive will take you to Glen Shee or an easier drive to Aviemore, two of Scotland’s main skiing resorts.
There is an excellent restaurant on site called ‘The Loft’ or a 5 minute walk will take you to an excellent bar restaurant called 'The Tulach' which sits at the entrance to Blair Atholl golf course.
A short stroll over the bridge will take you to The Atholl Hotel bar where serve lovely food and a nice selection of beers and wines.
There is also a lovely tea room, which is part of Blair Atholl Watermill on Ford Rd behind The Blair Atholl Hotel. Well worth a visit for a delicious lunch and to view The Mill.
There are also good places to eat out in Pitlochry.
McKays is superb, good food, friendly service, entertainment, prices and very relaxed.
Victoria's is a less relaxed but just as nice and friendly.
The Old Mill is no different. A superb place for a meal and a drink.
Travelling is mainly by car. However, a 5 minute walk will take you to Blair Atholl Train Station. This will take you either North or South.
There is also a taxi and bus service.
Whichever you choose, you will be travelling through some of the most breath taking scenery in Scotland.
Last but not least, only a 10min drive north, you have 'The House of Bruar', which is renowned as being Scotland's Harrods. (Sorry gents)
